Airflow® is a new way of teeth cleaning based on Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) and is applicable to natural teeth, implants and restorations. This method reveals the biofilm - i.e. the accumulation of microbes that contribute to the formation of dental plaque and tooth decay - through coloring as it is not always visible to the naked eye. Revealing the places where microbial formations are located (colored areas) contributes to their quick and effective removal.

AIRFLOW® access all types of dental tissues: dentin, ossein, enamel and gingiva, in a minimally-invasive way. The GBT method minimizes the use of ultrasonic devices and is much less abrasive than traditional teeth cleaning processes such as hand instruments, rubber cups and polishing paste that would require much more time to finish the treatment.

Tooth decay often develops in areas not accessible by rubber cups or brushes, including interdental areas, pits and fissures. The AIRFLOW® device cleans all these areas by completely removing the biofilm from the surface of the teeth, gingiva, tongue and palate.

Teeth cleaning during orthodontic therapy 

Orthodontic appliances increase biofilm growth in difficult to access areas by daily tooth brushing. The biofilm creates roughness between the metal parts of the device, gingivitis and tooth decay. AIRFLOW® provides full access to critical areas as it is a safe and effective way to clean teeth and orthodontic appliances ("braces").

Aesthetic restorations

Regular biofilm removal is essential to prevent gingival recession in esthetic restorations. AIRFLOW® and the GBT method remove biofilm around the margins of esthetic restorations in an efficient and gentle manner while preventing staining and discoloration.
